About

Why we built this

We created The Sustainability Navigator because we kept seeing the same problem: smaller businesses want to make meaningful progress on sustainability, but so much of the guidance out there is theoretical, complex or designed for much larger organisations.

So we set out to build something more practical.

The Navigator brings together several years of our research and hands-on experience — from work undertaken at Cambridge University to leading sustainability programmes for high street brands, as well as building teams, propositions and functions within smaller businesses ourselves.

We've also shaped it with input from more than 30 founders, business leaders, decision-makers and investors, helping us understand what businesses actually need to move from good intentions to practical action.

The result is a framework designed to help smaller and early-stage businesses build an approach to sustainability that works for their business.
